Message from IATSE:
Sisters, Brothers, Kin, and Allies –
Last week, Congress introduced the bipartisan Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act (MPTERA), a federal incentive that, if passed, will help level the playing field, bring film and television jobs back to the United States, and strengthen opportunities for entertainment workers.
This legislation is the entertainment industry’s top federal legislative priority, so we are engaging members, allies, and partner organizations in a nationwide advocacy campaign to pass the Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act by the end of this year. Here are some steps you can take right now to do your part:
- Send a letter to Congress: Click here to Tell Congress: Pass the Bipartisan Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act (MPTERA)
- Stay current with IATSE’s Fighting for U.S. Film & TV Jobs hub, which will be updated as more information and developments become available throughout the legislative process.
- Read more about the proposed bill here (PRESS RELEASE): https://iatse.net/iatse-lauds-introduction-of-motion-picture-television-and-entertainment-revitalization-act-urges-swift-passage/
MPTERA would support domestic production, post-production, and visual effects work while encouraging more investment in communities across the country. It would help create and sustain good union jobs after years of work going overseas.
The more lawmakers hear from entertainment workers, the stronger our case for passing this critical jobs bill before the end of the year.
In solidarity,
Team IATSE
